Monochromatic May:

Why May? I like alliteration in my titles: Pre-Fabricated February and Detailing December are some other examples of month-long performances that I have completed.

Is your mood effected by wearing grey? Monochromatic May makes me happy, I feel more productive integrating art with my daily life.

Do you have to wear all the items in the inventory? No, like any wardrobe there are favorites and then there are pieces that you never wear. If the weather remains cold and rainy (2009) there are numerous pieces that won't be seen.

Points of Interest:
when I'm shopping for grey clothing (and all I see are the grey clothes), I call it having my "grey-dar" on
I go to bed on April 30th wearing grey then don't change out of grey until the morning of June 1
my makeup is clear, lipglosses, etc. and eyeshadows are grey/silver
I don't try any colored clothing on for the month
I have one client who likes to bowl but I don't go bowling in MMay- can't wear the shoes
the grey clothing lives seperately in my shed throughout the year

when in Monochromatic May I put all regular clothes out in the shed to avoid tempation
I want to do the series again when my hair is naturally grey
thank you for your interest

FLAT
I once had a friend who dressed in grey
One year for the month of May
No pinks, no blues, no polychrome
She was monochromatic night and day.

From her sneaks to her Jammies
Her lips to her toes
All that adorned her was drab
But with her sense of style and lengthy legs
She actually didn't look half bad.

Silvered, smoky, somber, stone
Was the palatte that she chose
It was a show of endurance
Her dedication to art
And it's documented by 31 photo's.
