Apocalypse Clown is a climate crisis clown who is thriving to survive.

She wears a mask to protect against wildfire smoke and fashioned herself an “inner tutube” to prepare for rising water.

Apocalypse Clown was born in the Summer of 2020 during the convergence of Seattle’s first hazardous air quality event and the Covid-19 pandemic.

That Fall, a self-portrait series of the character was created during an artist residency at Rockland Woods.

In 2023 Fresh Mochi invited Apocalypse Clown to perform during the opening of a group show.

In 2024 Apocalypse Clown was able to be the artist in residence at Lookout Arts Quarry.
A sketch of a solo stage piece was created, diving into Apocalypse Clown’s inner psyche and routines.

Apocalypse Clown has evolved over the years. She has started to vend, selling a few items and sharing her temporary tattoos.

The temporary tattoos are free – you just need to read some fine print, agree to hold (h)armless Alfred and sign her “waver.”

This work is ongoing. Stay tuned!
