Apocalypse Clown is a climate crisis clown who is thriving to survive.
She wears a mask to protect against wildfire smoke & airborne illnesses, and fashioned herself an, “inner tutube” to prepare for rising water. Say hello when you see her, she can mime you an endangered species animal balloon.
Apocalypse Clown was created in response to Seattle’s first hazardous air, wildfire smoke event that happened during the first few months of the Covid19 pandemic.
Apocalypse Clown was initially developed at Rockland Woods Fall residency in 2020. A solo performance, stage piece was developed in 2024 while in residence at Lookout Arts Quarry.
Stay tuned, this work is ongoing. Almost forgot, all photos are self portraits. Love ya!
